Europe Technical Center founded Nexen Tire has founded a Technical center in Frankfurt Höchst, Germany and started full operation. It is to show Nexen’s strong commitment to develop the products that reflect the needs of European customers and to enhance the brand power in the European market. Europe is a very important market for Nexen Tire. Over the past few years, Nexen’s brand recognition has been steadily growing in Europe as well as in America and now they became the main markets. Experts are assigned to work at the Technical Center in Europe. General Manager Heejong Lee and Dr. Hendrik Stevens have been working on the operation between Korea and Europe since the beginning of this year. General Manager Heejong Lee is the person in charge of the Europe Technical Center and is responsible for the development of OE tires and tire testing. With the vast experiences in tire research and development in Germany/Europe market, General Manager Heejong Lee is expected to perform with expertise at the initial stage of the development center. More engineers and technicians are going to join the Europe Technical Center to bring it to the next level. Developing Tires for European Market Manager of the Technical center, Dr. Stevens will assess the peculiar demands on certain tire types in the European Market and share the information with the colleagues in Korea Technical Center. These two managers will focus on raising the quality of Nexen’s products and on establishing the brand image by carrying out tire testing and other activities. Dr. Hendrik Stevens is an expert with 27 years of experiences in chemical and tire industry and his main tasks are compound development and testing. He shared his view on Nexen Tire in the statement saying, “Nexen Tire has excellent products but couldn’t flourish in Europe Market for the limited manufacturing capacity. When they complete the construction of the Changnyeong Plant in 2012 as planned, Nexen can set for aggressive management in Europe and expand the market with a variety of product lines. I hope my knowledge and experiences will benefit the growth of Nexen Tire.”
