NEXEN TIRE began its partnership with the Manchester City FC in August 2015, and in that time, has created numerous best-in-class activations and content pieces, including football skills challenges with first team players such as Raheem Sterling, Kelechi Iheanacho and Nolito.
In March 2017, NEXEN TIRE renewed its partnership with Manchester City for a further three seasons, and became the first ever official sleeve partner in English Premier League history. The NEXEN TIRE logo will appear on the sleeve of Manchester City’s playing shirt for all Premier League and domestic cup matches, helping the Korean tire brand grow its visibility and presence around the world.
Additionally, this extended partnership now includes Women’s Super League and League Cup winners, Manchester City Women.
Utilizing Manchester City and NEXEN TIRE’s partnership as a key strategic marketing platform, NEXEN TIRE expects to increase the value of its business as a global company.
In addition, the company also sponsored the ‘2017 International Champions Cup (ICC) Presented by Heineken’ in the United States as a part of its aggressive commercial strategy to strengthen its position in the market. The 2017 ICC was held from the 19th to the 30th of July, in Houston, LA and Nashville.
NEXEN TIRE was able to reach a global audience through its extensive advertising and branding presence, especially via the LED advertisement boards which featured in all three stadiums. The player line-up arch, which players stood in front of prior to the match, also featured NEXEN TIRE’s logo for all Manchester City Football Club matches.
NEXEN’s biggest impact was delivered via its sleeve partnership, which saw Manchester City players wearing shirts emblazoned with the NEXEN TIRE logo for the first time in 2017. Manchester City went on to win two games, leaving fans excited about the season to come.
NEXEN TIRE also hosted two-time Olympic gold medalist and former Manchester City Women’s team member, Carli Lloyd; and provided fans with a rare opportunity to take photos and receive autographs from the superstar athlete.
For the Premier League match against Liverpool on September 9, Manchester City FC fans filled Etihad Stadium to watch the second home match of the season.
That same day, the new Manchester City Football Club first team bus was revealed, which prominently featured NEXEN TIRE. The players will use this bus at all applicable EPL home and away matches, providing further exposure to the NEXEN brand, and its partnership with the club.
Halfway around world, Korean fans also cheered enthusiastically for Manchester City FC as they played Liverpool!
In conjunction with Manchester City Football Club, NEXEN TIRE hosted the ‘SEOUL: OUR KIND OF CITY’ live screening event for fans to gather and watch the game. replicas of the Captain’s Armband worn by Vincent Kompany during the 2017 ICC Tour for all attending fans and also provided prizes as part of a lucky draw. Manchester City FC went on to secure a tremendous victory over Liverpool, with a score of 5 - 0, thanks to the passionate support of the Korean fans!
