NEXEN TIRE speed racing event entitled 'NEXEN TIRE RV Championship' started as the first race of RVs and SUVs in 2006 with the aim of expanding the base of motor sports domestically. NEXEN TIRE Speed Racing is the largest domestic motor sports event, with the motor car class added last year.

At the speed racing round 1 held last April, a total of 273 cars took part and over 300 cars applied for the second round in only a week, proving its particular appeal to racing fans.

NEXEN-Saint Nine Masters is a new women's golf tour starting this year under the joint sponsorship of NEXEN TIRE and Saint Nine. The tour was held at Gaya Country Club (par72) located in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, Kroea and ran from April 19 through 21 this year with 108 players taking part.

There were several interesting things that distinguish this championship from all other games. First of all, NEXEN-Saint Nine Championship has two signature holes and 9 animals called 'mental mate' are placed at each hole. In addition, several events were held, including a chip-shot and putting events for galleries.

This year's championship featured the favorites, Kim Haneul, who has topped the Money List for two consecutive years, and Yang Jaeyun, who won the KLPGA Grand Prize last year, competing alongside famous rookies including Kim Saeyeong, Jang Hana and Jang Suyeong. Called figure skating for the racing circuit, drifting is a driving technique that requires control and speed to be maintained from the entry to the exit of a corner. It is very popular, especially in the United States and Japan. This is the 5th year NEXEN has sponsored Drift Allstars. In particular, Team Nexen, sponsored by NEXEN TIRE, won the overall championship in 2008 and in 2010.

Drift Allstar is a one-on-one racing game in which the player with the fastest and best cornering skills takes the no.1 position. As one field of motor sports, drifting is spreading through England, Ireland, Spain and France and is expected to grow further. The Nurburgring, known as the holy land of motor sport, is also the venue for the German VLN series, one of the top 3 motor sports events in Europe. NEXEN TIRE is, naturally, its sponsor.

The VLN Series is closely associated with the 24 Hours of Nurburgring as it is held across famous circuits in Germany. Alongside the Le Mans Series in Europe, the VLN Series is considered as a motor sports event which admits only the highest-quality. Team Nexen is currently performing well and is well-placed to compete for first position.
