This club was formed in 1859 and named after the city of Geelong, and plays in the Australian Football League(AFL). AFL is one of the three major sports leagues in Australia which is governed by Australian football rules, also called Footy. The annual AFL Grand Final is so far the world's highest attended club championship event, attended by massive number of 90,000 people. The league currently consists of 18 clubs each playing 22 games from March to August of the year.
