On a Saturday morning, after working overtime every day and drinking heavily at the team gathering the previous night, you desperately want a lie in, but sadly your body wakes up in the wee hours of the morning as if it was a week day. Your hair is disheveled, but you feel inclined to get out and see somewhere, and so you turn on your computer and find a map. Of all the plenty of driveways across Korea, your eyes happen to be fixed at Bukak Skyway. Located in Seoul, the capital city of Korea, Bukak Skyway has long been popular with drivers. With a spectacular view, a general lack of overcrowding, and charmingly decorated coffee shops and restaurants, it is a must-visit stop.
Soon after its opening, Buksak Skyway became a popular destination for a drives among families and couples with cars. Over time, bikers and motorcyclists started to choose the road as an intermediate course for a ride. Drive along the road on any day and you will see many bikers and motorists travelling either up- or downhill. It is no wonder that so many people talk about it.
Bukak Skyway may also be familiar to those who do not live in Seoul, have no car and have no one to hang out with, but watch TV a lot. The road is a set for a popular Korean TV series “Coffee Prince” starring Kong Yu and Yoon Eun-hye, aired throughout the summer a few years ago. It is on the very road that Kong Yu, the male actor playing the title role, jogs in a hooded shirt wearing a big smile. Go a bit further uphill and you will see the house where Lee Sun-gyun, the male actor playing the other title role, lives in the series, which is in reality a café called “Sanmotungi” (lit. spur of a mountain).
Bukak Skyway is well known for its two starkly different faces for drivers day and night. During daylight hours, you can fully appreciate the wonderful view that the ridge of Mt. Bukak creates, while during the hours of darkness you may sense a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Isn't just the thought of overlooking the light-soaked city from the road sipping tea just making your heart pound?
Bukak Skyway, however, is not an easy drive for every driver. If you've just got your driver’s license or just started driving anew years after getting it, the road is not recommended. Steep and winding, it requires not only good driving skills but also a checkup on your car, including the tires, before you drive. If you had much snow in the winter, there might be snow piled up on both sides. Since the section of the road running through housing blocks is paved not with asphalt but with concrete, you might break out in a cold sweat traveling on it. Again, good driving skills and prior tire checkup are a must.
One of the most important factors on a drive along a steep or winding route is driving stability which indicates how accurately the car responds to the driver's input. It can be said that the N'FERA SU1 is a tire surpassing the limit. Its improved anti-abrasion is made possible thanks to its optimal design based on area distribution, which ensures a fast drive on regular roads and good fuel efficiency.
