- The CP 671 tire will be fitted into the 500X, Fiat''s first crossover model
The tire maker announced that it had signed a contract with Fiat (part of Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles) for OE tire supply. The contract will see NEXEN supply tires to the automaker for its 500X model, which is entering production this February.
As the first crossover utility vehicle (CUV) released by Fiat, the 500X is characterized by its larger exterior and the advantages it has over the existing 500 series in design and practicality. The model was first showcased at the Paris Motor Show held last October.
NEXEN TIRE will supply 17" CP671 tire for the 500X vehicles for the North American market, which will be assembled at the Melfi Plant in Italy.
The CP671 tire has been supplied to Chrysler''s 200 and All New 200 models, where it has been highly praised for its performance and quality. It features mileage performance particularly well-suited to long-distance driving and an upgraded noise reduction technology. The tire also provides high performance in the wide variety of areas required by a newly designed vehicle model.
Meanwhile, NEXEN TIRE has supplied tire for the 500L model since 2013. The company plans to increase the range of models it supplies with tires by leveraging the OE tire supply for the 500X model and hopes to continue its relationship with FCA in the future.
