In March 25, Nexen Tire announced that it would supply OE tires to Fiat through FCA (Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles). This contract is to supply Roadian CT8 for SUV/LTR to be fitted to Ducato, Fiat's major commercial van model. From April, Nexen Tire will be supplying tires to these vehicles that are currently being manufactured in Atessa, Italy.
First launched in 1981, the Fiat Ducato has been in a constant state of evolution since then, and is now recognized as one of the most popular vans in Europe, offering exemplary features of and fuel efficiency, posting sales of over 2.6 million vehicles. Fitted to this model, the Nexen ROADIAN CT8 is a product featuring abrasion resistance and mileage performance that is maximized through the application of new compounds, while delivering excellent handling and braking performance on wet roads.
Following the OE contract with Fiat, in May, Nexen Tire announced an OE supply contract with Renault of France and Daimler Smart of Germany. The Nexen tires will be fitted to two models: Twingo of Renault and ForFour of Daimler Smart.
Exhibited at the last year's Paris Motor Show, Twingo and ForFour will be fitted with Nexen Tire's N'blue Premium and sold across Europe.
As Renault's strategic model for Europe, Twingo is evaluated to be highly agile with its easy handling and possesses an abundance of interior space by positioning its engine in the rear. Daimler Smart's ForFour made a full change for the first time in 10 years after its launching in 2004, including its new design, interior and powerful engine.
Nexen Tire's N'blue Premium won the Honorable Mention at the Design Awards of Germany 2015. It is also known as an environment-friendly tire with improved fuel efficiency.
Since 2012, Nexen Tire has supplied OE tires to many global automakers, including Mitsubishi, Fiat, Volkswagen, Chrysler, Skoda, and SEAT. This year, the tire maker also began to supply tires for FCA FIAT's first crossover '500X', and commercial van 'Ducato', proving its superior quality and technology worldwide.
