New EU Tyre Labelling Regulation(2020/740)
The new tyre labelling regulation, effective May 2021, is intended to provide consumers with more extensive information than ever before.
To this end, the class of Rolling Resistance (RR) and WetGrip were rearranged, and the noise class was changed from sound wave symbol(s) to A/B/C characters.
The QR code in the upper right corner also allows information on individual tires to be downloaded from the *EPREL database.
There is also an indication of whether the Sever Snow Condition (Snow Grip Pictogram) or Ice Grip Index (Ice Grip Pictogram) is recognized.
The new EU tyre label is intended to allow consumers to choose more fuel-efficient tyres and obtain information about the braking force at the same time.
In addition helps reduce noise exposure in vehicles through information about pass-by noise.
*EPREL : European Product Registry for Energy Labeling

Rolling Resistance(RR) : Fuel Efficiency Class
5 classes from E (least efficient) to A (most efficient)

Wet Grip Class
5 classes from E (longest braking distances) to A (shortest braking distances)

Tyre External Rolling Noise Class
Categorized by A, B, and C characters in sound wave symbol(s)
