NEXEN TYRE, a leading global tyre manufacturer, has entered the second year of its three-year partnership with top-flight Australian A-League team, Melbourne City Football Club, in line with the new season that kicked-off on October 20.

NEXEN TYRE’s partnership with Melbourne City FC comes together with the company’s efforts to take a step closer to the Australian fans of the popular domestic team and strengthen its brand awareness in the Oceania market. Last year, the company signed a three-year contract with the football club for the 2017 to 2020 seasons.

Throughout the 2018/19 season of the A-League, the logo of NEXEN TYRE will be displayed on the Melbourne City FC’s away kit sleeve, travel kit, training kit and the newly announced third kit.

“With the start of the new season, we are delighted to continue our partnership with Melbourne City FC. We always look for unique opportunities to reach out to football fans throughout the Oceania region, which is also meaningful to our company,” said James Lim, Managing Director of the NEXEN TYRE Sydney office. “At NEXEN TYRE, we go to great lengths to strengthen our presence globally, especially through sports sponsorships with prominent sports teams such as Melbourne City FC.”

The partnership with Melbourne City FC is NEXEN TYRE’s second tie with a City Football Group club. NEXEN TYRE has been a partner of Melbourne City’s sister-club Manchester City since 2015 when it became the Official Tyre Partner of Manchester City. In 2017, NEXEN TYRE has been announced as the club’s Official Sleeve Partner, becoming the first ever sleeve partner in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Melbourne City FC is off to a great start for the A-League 2018/19 season, scoring two goals against Melbourne Victory at their first match held in Marvel Stadium, Docklands on October 20.
