Nexen Tire's N'blue ECO, an environment-friendly tire, became the first tire ever to be a finalist at the U.S. Green Good Design Award. This achievement follows hot on the heels of its recent grand slam of design awards.

Every year, the Green Good Design Award by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies selects excellent green designs that display a core focus in their design on public understanding on design and sustainability.

In addition to green products, the award also selects winners in other categories such as people, organizations and architecture, and in 2014, the N'blue ECO became a finalist in the product category of the award.

The N'blue ECO is Nexen Tire’s leading green tire. With optimized tread patterns and a construction that minimizes energy loss, the tire provides reduced rolling resistance and dramatically improved fuel efficiency, while also featuring a functional design inspired by nature.

"Winning this award marks the attainment by Nexen Tire of a global level in terms of our green design and technology capabilities. Going forward, we plan to build on this achievement by raising our status in the global market through continuous expansion of investment in green R&D," said Han Min-hyeon, R&D Division Manager and Vice President of Nexen Tire.

With a beautiful and future-oriented design, Nexen Tire is recognized worldwide for its competency, as shown by the many design awards and customer satisfaction surveys it has variously won or topped. Nexen will continue to make inroads on the global market through taking on the leading global players in design as well as technology.
