SOLEDAD, a Spanish partner of Nexen, came to Korea last June to visit the company.

As a producer and distributor of tires and accessories, SOLEDAD is one of the Nexen's best partners possessing a business relationship that started in the 1980s and has since spanned over 30 years. The visitors included: Raul Jimenez, NEXEN TIRE Sales Manager, Joaquin Pérez Martinez, SOLEDAD Marketing Manager, César Sanz Bustillo, Spain IAC and Sergio Marzo Capilla and Jose Luis, both of whom are tire shop owners.

They took this opportunity to witness NEXEN TIRE's technological capabilities for themselves and cement their relationship with NEXEN TIRE. Let's hear what they had to say after visiting Nexen.

Q. How do you feel after seeing the Changnyeong Plant for yourself?

A. I had only seen Nexen's and its competitors' plants on video. This was my first time to visit a real plant. I was surprised to find the plant so modern and clean and equipped with advanced machinery. I also could see why they say it is an eco-friendly automated plant. I already knew that it is highly automated, but there were much fewer people working in the plant than I thought. Better still, it is operated in a very systematic way, which is very impressive.

Q. What did you find to be the most impressive aspect about Korea during your stay?

I went to many famous tourist attractions including Insa-dong, Seoul Tower and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) during my stay. The most impressive of all was when watching Nexen Heroes, a Nexen-sponsored professional baseball team, playing in the ball park. Their style of play truly goes well with the dynamic brand image that NEXEN TIRE exudes. Other activities included a visit to a local tire shop where we could see Nexen's tires actually being fitted and hear what consumers feel about the products. We also had an opportunity to try a variety of Korean cuisine including kimchi, which was quite delicious. There are also many things about Korean culture that we don't have in Spain, which is interesting and sometimes remarkable. People here are so friendly as well.

Q. How do you find working with NEXEN TIRE?

NEXEN TIRE and SOLEDAD have organized a dealer conference together for the last 3 years.

The first was held in the offices of SOLEDAD, and the second and the third in Madrid, successfully communicating the brand and technological power of NEXEN TIRE to attendees from all over Spain. The Nexen-SOLEDAD joint conference provides a valuable opportunity for attendees to have first-hand experience with Nexen products and gain useful information on them. We will continue to work together to keep the conference going.

Nexen's technology and products are no less competitive than its competitors', and we will carry out diverse forms of marketing campaign using our distribution channels to make Nexen products better and more widely known.
