NEXEN TYRE, a leading global tyre manufacturer, has announced the launch of its latest Ultra-High Performance (UHP) tyre, the N'FERA Primus UX. Following its debut in Korea on 1 June, the tyre is now being introduced across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, marking a key step in NEXEN TYRE’s global expansion into the replacement tyre market.

The N'FERA Primus UX delivers a 20% improvement in tread wear performance compared to its predecessor. Developed under NEXEN TYRE’s “One Universal Fit” strategy, the tyre is engineered to deliver consistent, high-level performance across a wide range of vehicle types, including electric vehicles (EVs), internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, and SUVs. It also features NEXEN TYRE’s proprietary EV ROOT certification mark, ensuring reliable and balanced performance across both EV and ICE platforms.

To support this versatility, overall performance has been significantly enhanced. Reinforced construction helps maintain tyre shape at high speeds, improving high-speed stability. An expanded contact patch further enhances driving stability, while an optimised tread block design helps reduce road noise for improved driving comfort.

In addition to performance gains, fuel efficiency has also been improved. A newly developed advanced compound reduces energy loss, extending tread life and improving efficiency. The aerodynamic sidewall design reduces air resistance, helping improve fuel economy in ICE vehicles while maximising driving range in EVs.

The development of the N'FERA Primus UX leverages NEXEN TYRE’s advanced AI and virtual simulation technologies. Using an AI-based performance prediction system and a high-dynamic driving simulator—introduced for the first time in the domestic automotive industry—the company is able to simulate tyre performance in a virtual environment closely mirroring real-world driving conditions, significantly improving development speed and efficiency.
