‘EV ROOT’ signifies top-tier performance across electric and internal combustion engine vehicles
Debuts with upgraded premium comfort tyre ‘N’FERA Supreme’

NEXEN TIRE, a leading global tyre manufacturer, today announced the launch of the N’FERA Supreme EV ROOT, an advanced high-performance tyre designed to deliver optimal performance for both electric vehicles (EVs) and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

Building on the success of NEXEN’s premium comfort model, the N’FERA Supreme, the new tyre introduces key enhancements tailored to the demands of modern mobility. Equipped with a High Load (HL) rating to support the heavier weight of EV batteries – particularly in electric SUVs – the tyre also incorporates sound-absorbing materials for a quieter drive. A newly optimised square-shaped contact patch and NEXEN’s proprietary 3D kerf technology further enhance grip and stability across all seasons.

In real-world testing with the Kia EV6, the N’FERA Supreme EV ROOT delivered measurable improvements across key performance categories: wet and dry handling and comfort improved by 13%, while rolling resistance was reduced by around 20%, contributing to greater efficiency and ride quality. These advancements highlight NEXEN TIRE’s commitment to offering a single, high-performance solution suitable for both EVs and ICE vehicles.

The EV ROOT mark, introduced in the second half of 2025, will serve as NEXEN TIRE’s official designation for products that meet stringent performance standards across both vehicle types. The N’FERA Supreme EV ROOT is now available in the Korean market, with global rollout to follow. Over time, NEXEN TIRE will expand the EV ROOT designation across its product portfolio, establishing a unified benchmark for performance regardless of drivetrain or powertrain.

As part of this initiative, NEXEN TIRE is accelerating innovation through advanced technology. The company has developed an AI-powered performance prediction system to simulate tyre characteristics such as fuel efficiency, noise, grip, handling and stiffness with precision – speeding up development and improving accuracy. NEXEN has also introduced Korea’s first VR-based High Dynamic Driving Simulator in the automotive industry, enabling real-time virtual testing to optimise tyre performance from the design stage.
