NEXEN TYRE Wins 2025 Green Good Design Awards in the U.S.

N’FERA Sport R and N’Blue 4Season 2 recognised in Green Transportation category

Leading global tyre manufacturer NEXEN TYRE has taken home two accolades at the 2025 Green Good Design Awards in the United States. The company’s N’FERA Sport Rand N’Blue 4Season 2 tyres were honoured in the Green Transportationcategory for their eco-conscious design and sustainability-driven innovation.

The Green Good Design Awards are a special division of the internationally renowned Good Design Awards, organised by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. These awards recognise outstanding products and technologies that prioritise sustainability, energy efficiency, innovation, and social impact.

The N’FERA Sport R, a high-performance summer tyre, was praised for its performance-focused design and user-friendly features. One key innovation is the Step Groove tread pattern, which expands as the tyre wears, maintaining road grip in various conditions. A circular wear indicator at the centre of the tread gradually fades to signal when the tyre needs replacing.

Its high-carbon black compound and wide contact patch enhance traction, while a dual steel belt and two-ply polyester carcass provide stability and responsive handling at high speeds—especially critical for high-torque electric vehicles, where consistent grip is essential.

The N’Blue 4Season 2 was also recognised for its environmentally conscious design. The tyre features a new compound that improves wear resistance by around 30% compared to its predecessor, helping to extend replacement cycles and reduce waste.

Fine sipes in the central tread blocks ensure even road contact, while serrated outer edges improve braking on snowy surfaces. A slanted support structure in the centre reduces block movement on uneven roads, delivering greater ride stability.

The N’Blue 4Season 2 has already received international recognition, including a Red Dot Design Award in Germany (2022) and a "Green Tyre" seal from German automotive magazine AutoBild in 2023.

“This award highlights our ongoing commitment to creating sustainable mobility solutions through design-led innovation,” said Travis Kang, Global CEO of NEXEN TYRE. “It reinforces our dedication to both quality and environmental responsibility. We will continue to grow our brand through forward-thinking design and ethical business practices.”
