There are two major auto shows scheduled in the first half of 2016: Beijing Motor Show and Busan International Motor Show, being held in Korea. Learn more about the motor shows along with useful travel tips on their locations below.

Huge Scale “Beijing Motor Show”

China’s economy is growing at an accelerated rate and so are its motor shows. To be held from April 25th to May 4th, the Beijing Motor Show 2016 is the largest in scale throughout Asia. It takes place every year on a rotational basis with the Shanghai Motor Show: in Beijing in even-numbered years and in Shanghai in odd-numbered years. The motor show will provide you with a great opportunity to gain insights into what is happening throughout the automotive industry and offer plenty of events that will make you excited.

After having fun at the show, you can check out some local cuisine. Our top recommendation is Peking Duck, just as the location of the show implies. There are many good restaurants that are famous for this dish that are located near the show venue, including Jinbaiwan. After eating your fill, check out Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden Palace, two must-see locations in Beijing. Built during the Qing Dynasty, the Forbidden Palace represents the magnitude as well as the refined architectural detail of Asian palaces.

Date : Monday, April 25 to Wednesday, May 5, 2016
Location : New China International Exhibition Center

Vibrant and energetic “Busan International Motor Show”

The ‘Busan International Motor Show’ will be held in Korea this coming June. This year the show, which has been held within BEXCO in the past, will take place all around the city of Busan to allow for more tourists to enjoy it. It will offer wider collection of items to see, including the winners of the Auto Design Award that will give you a taste of what automobiles will look like in the future.

After taking in the show, don’t forget to check out BEXCO and other must-sees around it. There is a hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) experience and exhibit hall run by the city of Busan within BEXCO on the first floor, where you can learn more about Korean traditional attire and gain a variety of first-hand experiences. Better yet, all of those are free.

Other recommended destinations include Centum City, the world’s largest department store according to Guinness World Records, where you can do some shopping and visit a spa, and Haeundae Beach where you can go on a yacht tour and enjoy some night life.

Date : Press Day – Thursday, June 2; Opening Ceremony – Friday, June 3;
Opening to the public – Friday, June 3 to Sunday, June 12, 2016
Location : BEXCO

If you are a motor show fan, China and Korea should be your first destinations during the first half of 2016. Spending some extra time outside the show will help make your stay in the cities much more fun and memorable.
